Disney have indeed made a quick decision and Deadline's suggestion that the

Rob Marshall, who directed the last Pirates of the Caribbean film, was rumored to return, but wasn't to come back since he's doing new Disney movie, the darkly comic mash-up of classic fairy tales,
Into the Woods.
Other two contenders for the director's chair included,
Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman) and
Fredrik Bond (The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman) and the studio is expected to make a final decision within the next few weeks.
Meanwhile, Rønning and Sandberg are assured to start prepping
Pirates 5 right away in order to start production later this year or early 2014.
Jeff Nathanson was hired
back in January, to rewrite the original draft by
Terry Rossio that was completed before
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides even hit theaters in 2011.
Kon-Tiki was nominated for the Best Foreign Language Oscar and showed the duo could handle the rigors of a water shoot. Besides, Rønning and Sandberg were recently attached to a film called
Spectral at Legendary, but have since dropped out to focus their efforts on the Pirates job.
