Paranoia has been stuck in development hell for three years now and has suddenly gained attraction, with the news that
Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman, and
Liam Hemsworth are all set to star.
In fact, just over a week ago, when his diamond heist film Brilliant has experienced delays, director
Robert Luketic revealed that his next possibility was something with Liam Hemsworth. That was Paranoia, a corporate espionage thriller that takes place in the business world and involves a duel between telecom giants.
But then none other than Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman will join Hemsworth in Paranoia. Luketic also recently indicated through his Twitter account that shooting on film starts in the summer and will take place in New York and Mumbai.
The John Grisham-y plot details are still under wraps for now, but this sounds like a good change of pace with Ford and Oldman who last squared off in Air Force One.
Luketic will direct the IM Global feature based on Joseph Finder's 2004 novel from a recent script draft by Jason Hall (Spread). The original adaptation was by Barry Levy (Vantage Point).
Stay tuned.
