Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal Lecter in NBC’s HANNIBAL
What the hell the sexiest man in Denmark has to do with the upcoming NBC's series Hannibal? Well, it looks that he will play the lead in the whole thing!
Of course we're talking about Mads Mikkelsen, or from now on – Dr. Hannibal Lecter!
There you go, the first good reason for all of us to get excited about this show!
But, let's be honest, man who stands behind this project, writer-producer Bryan Fuller already gave some interesting updates on the Hannibal story:
“It's before he was incarcerated, so he's more of a peacock. There is a cheery disposition to our Hannibal. He's not being telegraphed as a villain. If the audience didn't know who he was, they wouldn't see him coming…” – said Fuller and added:
“What we have is Alfred Hitchcock's principle of suspense – show the audience the bomb under the table and let them sweat when it's going to go boom. So the audience knows who Hannibal is so we don't have to overplay his villainy. We get to subvert his legacy and give the audience twists and turns.”
Now, with great Mikkelsen on board, and previously announced Hugh Dancy as FBI profiler Will Graham (who enlists the help of Dr. Lecter for assistance in solving his crimes), the 13-episode series definitely sound like a big job for NBC.
Sounds promising.
Only sounds – at this moment.
That's why we'll keep an eye on it!
