Mark Wahlberg to Produce and Possibly Star in AVON MAN

Mark Wahlberg Hey everyone, on the same day that it’s announced where the long-anticipated, much-delayed production of The Wolverine will begin shooting this summer (Sydney, Australia), it’s been revealed that a long-gestating comedy Avon Man has a brand new producer and possible star. Sounds like it might be more than just coincidence since Hugh Jackman bailed on the starring role in Avon almost two years ago because of his commitments to The Wolverine. Well, however, Mark Wahlberg and partner Stephen Levinson along with Krasnoff Foster’s Gary Foster and John Palermo have all signed on to produce the upcoming 20th Century Fox comedy, and it’s currently being considered a potential star vehicle for Wahlberg as well. Kevin Lima (Enchanted) is no longer attached to direct either. The script is written by Kevin Bisch (Hitch) and soon to be rewritten by Michael McCullers (Baby Mama). The sitcom premise of the story follows a man who, upon losing his job as a car dealership, decides to find a new line of work by going door-to-door, selling Avon products. Though there’s some initial embarrassment over the job, he soon becomes a favorite employee, convinces his macho unemployed buddies to join him even using his friends to win a regional contest that can ‘save his town and help his struggling family.’ Among other mixing projects Wahlberg will soon be seen starring in the Seth MacFarlane-directed Ted.
