MGM has been rumored to be conducting exploratory talks with Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson and Clark Duke to reprise their roles for the Hot Tub Time Machine follow-up.
Heat Vison broke the news of making a sequel to huge hit on home video directed by Steve Pink. Corddry could possibly write a script with Pink, who is in talks to return as well. John Cusack is apparently not involved at this point, but that could always change.
There’s also no word on the potential involvement of guest stars like Crispin Glover, Chevy Chase, and Johnny from The Karate Kid, neither any storyline was revealed.
If they made the deal, production would be on the fast track.
The raunchy time traveling 2010 comedy follows ‘a group of best friends who’ve become bored with their adult lives: Adam (Cusack) has been dumped by his girlfriend; Lou (Corddry) is a party guy who can’t find the party; Nick’s (Robinson) wife controls his every move; and video game-obsessed Jacob (Duke) won’t leave his basement. After a crazy night of drinking in a ski resort hot tub, the men wake up, heads’ pounding, in the year 1986. It’s their chance to kick some past and change their futures.’
