Okay but… why does she look like she's about to start a synth band in 1998 Moscow?
I mean, yeah, Milly Alcock was confirmed already. That part's not shocking. But I didn't expect to feel weirdly intimidated by her Supergirl. Like, what even is this vibe? It's giving space-rat-with-a-past. She's got that “I live in my car but it's intergalactic” energy.
And then—leak city. The new suit dropped online and it's not what I'd call “heroic.” It's more “I smoked Krypto's last cigarette and dared the sun to explode.” Cosmic punk. Space leather. No shine, no gloss. Not even a cape that behaves.
Apparently, in Superman (yes, Gunn's one), she just shows up hungover at the Fortress of Solitude. To grab her dog. From Clark. Who's been dog-sitting. WHAT. Like I love it but also… huh???
Oh and Craig Gillespie's directing Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow which makes all of this make sense. Of course the guy behind Cruella is giving us Kara Zor-El in emotional shambles and combat boots.
Gunn said she's “kind of a mess.” No. No. She's a whole event. Flashbacks to Krypton? Maybe. But also—this version of her watched her planet fall apart like a sad little snow globe, while Superman got hugs and apple pie. So. Yeah. She's not smiling for your team-up poster.
Kinda miss when you had to wait for hero cameos. Waiting made it feel bigger.
My cousin legit thought she was in The Flash. I didn't even correct him.
Also—small thing—but she does NOT look like she eats. Like, ever. In space. I don't know. It's the kind of detail that makes you feel like you've been watching too many of these. Or maybe not enough?
Anyway—what was I saying? Right. The leak. The suit. The vibe. It's a choice. But you know what? I'm weirdly here for it. Even if I kinda hate that I'm here for it.
Maybe this is the DCU growing up. Or melting down. Or just… vibing too hard. I can't tell anymore.
Has anyone seen actual copies of this ? (Summer of Superman/ Lozano Supergirl cover 2nd print)
