Paddington is back and film lovers rejoice. New trailer gives us glimpse at Paddington in Peru, which, as you may have guessed from the title, promises yet another heartwarming, fun, chaotic and surprise cameo filled adventure. In this third Paddington film, the children's series' darling Paddington (Ben Whishaw) sets out to find his mysterious Aunt Lucy, who vanished from her house in Peru.
As Paddington goes looking for the truth, he's joined by an impressive cast that includes The Favourite actress Olivia Colman, as The Reverend Mother, a guitar strumming nun who runs the Home for Retired Bears. Hunter Cabot, a brash riverboat captain played by Antonio Banderas, gets his own rack of adventure as Paddington and the Brown family make their way through Peru's treacherous terrains.
Hugh Bonneville, Julie Walters, Imelda Staunton return, along with Emily Mortimer to replace Sally Hawkins as Mrs. Brown. When the U.S. date of Paddington in Peru, which hits theaters January 17, 2025, it'll be hard not to have another crowd pleaser on your hands based on this star studded cast alone.
Can the third film outlive the high levels of the previous ones? The second Paddington gets some love, the Rotten Tomatoes score leaping into the 90s for Paddington – a lifetime achievement for comedy breaks it well and high above the 97% average score of Paddington (2014). The franchise's fans are buzzing in anticipation already, given the success from the first two installments, which collectively set an entirely new standard for family-friendly storytelling.
