A little photo update today guys! We're all curious about the upcoming The Gangster Squad project, so I guess you're going to enjoy this new image from the Ruben Fleischer‘s directed period crime drama.
As you'll see, our favourite mobsters are this time together in front of the City Hall, and yes – they look pretty classy, but as Josh Brolin previously stated – don't get fooled, they were pretty brutal back then as well!
But, beside Brolin, this movie definitely has an awesome cast on board. I'm sure you know, but let me remind you that Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn, Emma Stone, Robert Patrick, Michael Peña, Giovanni Ribisi and Anthony Mackie all star in The Gangster Squad.
The movie is set in Los Angeles, 1949 and centers on ruthless, Brooklyn-born mob king Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) who runs the show in this town, reaping the ill-gotten gains from the drugs, the guns, the prostitutes and-if he has his way-every wire bet placed west of Chicago.
He does it all with the protection of not only his own paid goons, but also the police and the politicians who are under his control. It's enough to intimidate even the bravest, street-hardened cop…except, perhaps, for the small, secret crew of LAPD outsiders led by Sgt. John O'Mara (Josh Brolin) and Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling), who come together to try to tear Cohen's world apart.
The Gangster Squad opens on January 11th, 2013.
