Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.
New THE WOLVERINE Image Of Hugh Jackman
I'm sorry if you get upset when films release a bunch of photos that don't actually reveal much, but the image below was released via The Wolverine's official Facebook page along with this message: ‘The past is always behind you, but the memories still remain.'
While we still wait for director James Mangold to hit us with a teaser trailer of the film, Hugh Jackman's Logan is reportedly standing against a Japanese background with the text, which is partially shown behind him and says ‘Rocketto.'
As you already know, The Wolverine finds Logan, the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan where samurai steel will clash with artificial claws made of true adamantium as Jackman's titular character confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.
The first trailer is due to be released in late March, possibly in theaters in front of G.I. Joe: Retaliation.
The action adventure also stars Will Yun Lee (Die Another Day), Hiroyuki Sanada (LOST), Brian Tee (Fun With Dick and Jane), Rila Fukushima, Tao Okamoto and Svetlana Khodchenkova (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy).
The film opens on July 26th, 2013.
Stay tuned, there's more to come.
