Fox Searchlight has announced a release date and also debuted a teaser poster for their aptly named film
Hitchcock, directed by
Sacha Gervasi (Anvil: The Story of Anvil).
Based on the Stephen Rebello's book ‘
Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho', the biopic of the famed director was slated for a 2013 release, but now will hit limited theaters this November 23rd, 2012. A limited theatrical release will expand based on critic response and ticket sales.
The film which takes place during the making of Hitchcock's seminal movie Psycho stars
Anthony Hopkins as the titular director along with
Scarlett Johansson and
Jessica Biel.
Helen Mirren stars as his wife, alongside
Danny Huston, Toni Collette, Michael Stuhlbarg, James D'Arcy, Michael Wincott, Richard Portnow and
Kurtwood Smith.
Written by
John McLaughlin (Black Swan) the film is also a love story about one of the most influential filmmakers of the last century and his wife and partner Alma Reville.
