OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL Oz: The Great and Powerful opens next month, so I guess now is the perfect moment for all of us to check out the latest TV spots for the movie, as well as Disney’s latest Oz-map (just in case you ever decide to take a trip to Kansas). As you’re about to see – James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams are more than ready to amaze us, so let’s give them a try… OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL Image Written by Mitchell Kapner and David Lindsay-Abaire, and directed by Sam Raimi, the movie is inspired by L. Frank Baum’s 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and set before the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. [jwplayer mediaid=”137177″] It follows James Franco as a small-time circus magician Oscar Diggs who is inexplicably transported to the wondrous world of Oz, where he encounters three witches named Theodora (Kunis), Evanora (Weisz), and Glinda (Williams). Beside them, Oz: The Great and Powerful cast also includes Zach Braff, Joey King and Bruce Campbell and the movie is set to open on March 8th, 2013. [jwplayer mediaid=”137178″]
When Oscar Diggs, a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he’s hit the jackpot–fame and fortune are his for the taking–that is until he meets three witches, Theodora, Evanora and Glinda, who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone’s been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity – and even a bit of wizardry – Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.
