OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL Reveals New Poster!

OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL

So far – so good. Unless, of course, you hate flying monkeys or something like that. We have another completely new poster for the upcoming fantasy adventure Oz: The Great and Powerful, and if anyone asks – I definitely prefer this second (or should I say – filled) version of the poster. However, I don't care much about this project, so I'll just share the damn poster and fly away like a monkey.

So, as you already know, this time director Sam Raimi is bringing us a completely new version of the Wizard of Oz. The whole thing is actually set before the events of the 1939 film and the original book. In other words, the film is adapted from L. Frank Baum‘s 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and we should all consider it as some kind of a prequel to both the novel and the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz.

When Oscar Diggs, a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he's hit the jackpot–fame and fortune are his for the taking–that is until he meets three witches, Theodora, Evanora and Glinda, who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone's been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity – and even a bit of wizardry – Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.

James Franco stars as Oscar, Mila Kunis is that witch Theodora, Rachel Weisz is Evanora, Michelle Williams is Glinda, and the rest of the cast also includes Zach Braff, Joey King and Bruce Campbell.

Oz: The Great And Powerful is set to open on March 8th, 2013.
