Anyway. Whatever. The trailer for Season 2 of Platonic just dropped on Apple TV and it's… basically the same. Still chaotic. Still too close. Still pretending like two people in full midlife meltdown can just be friends and not—explode??
August 6. That's the release date. Literally mid-summer. Right when I start pretending I'm gonna go outside. No chance. I'll be inside watching Will and Sylvia make bad decisions while pretending they're emotionally stable.
And okay, sure. The cast is stacked. Luke Macfarlane's back. Aidy Bryant's here now? Milo Manheim for some reason?? Kyle Mooney looks like he wandered in from a different show entirely. It's like someone dumped a bag of SNL alums into the script and just hit “blend.”
But also like… it's kinda the same plot? Jobs are falling apart, relationships are weird, they're each other's rock, but the rock is also—what's the opposite of support? A bowling ball with feelings? I dunno. I miss when you had to wait for things. Waiting made it feel bigger.
Oh and the tagline? “Sometimes rocks break things.” Yeah. Cool. Thanks for the metaphor, Apple. Feels like it was written at 3AM on a locked Notes app.
