First PRISONERS Trailer; Starring Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal

Prisoners Movie Warner Bros. has premiered the first trailer for Denis Villeneuve‘s Prisoners starring Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal, which looks intense, gritty and raw. Judging from the trailer, the flick looks sort of kick ass. Aaron Guzikowski’s script was named one of the best spec scripts of 2009 by The Blacklist. Directed by celebrated Incendies director Villeneuve, the story revolves around a small-town carpenter Keller Dover (Jackman) whose young daughter and best friend are kidnapped. But when the primary suspect is released by Detective Loki (Gyllenhaal), Keller decides to take things into his own hands. Billed as ‘a “parent’s worst nightmare,’ Prisoners features a talented cast that also includes Maria Bello, Terrance Howard, Viola Davis, Melissa Leo and Paul Dano (Leonardo DiCaprio, Bryan Singer, Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale were attached to star when the film was in it’s early stages). An abduction drama Prisoners is due in theaters September 20th, 2013. Check out the trailer below. Here’s the official synopsis:
Keller Dover is facing every parent’s worst nightmare. His 6-year-old daughter and her young friend are missing, and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had been parked on their street. Heading the investigation, Detective Loki arrests its driver, but a lack of evidence forces the only suspect’s release. Knowing his child’s life is at stake, the frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands. The desperate father will do whatever it takes to find the girls, but in doing so, may lose himself, begging the question: When do you cross the line between seeking justice and becoming a vigilante?
