PROMISED LAND New Featurette
Check out a new featurette starring Matt Damon, John Krasinski, Frances McDormand and producer Chris Moore as they discuss teaming up with director Gus Van Sant (Good Will Hunting) on their upcoming drama Promised Land.
Krasinski and Damon wrote the script from the story by Dave Eggers which explores America at the crossroads where big business and the strength of small-town community converge.
Damon plays Steve Butler, a salesman for a natural gas company who is sent along with his partner, Sue Thomason (McDormand), to close a key rural town where his corporation wants to tap into the available resources.
With the town having been hit hard by the economic decline of recent years, the two outsiders see the local citizens as likely to accept their company's offer, for drilling rights to their properties, as much-needed relief. What seems like an easy job for the duo becomes complicated by the objection of a respected schoolteacher (Hal Holbrook) with support from a grassroots campaign led by another man (Krasinski), as well as the interest of a local woman (Rosemarie DeWitt).
The contemporary drama Promised Land opens in select theaters on December 28th, 2012, followed by an expansion on January 11th, 2013.
