Robert Rodriguez’ MACHETE KILLS Starts Filming This April?
All Machete fans out there are going to love this news: the sequel is definitely coming, and it looks that director Robert Rodriguez wants to begin filming this April!
At this moment we know that the title of the second film in a planned trilogy is Machete Kills, and of course we all expect to see the leading star, Danny Trejo back in the business!
And Trejo is not the only one who is expected to return for Machete Kills because the rest of the original cast will probably come back for the sequel as well.
A script has been written by Kyle Ward and this time finds Machete recruited by the U.S. Government for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man. Machete must battle his way through Mexico to take down a madman cartel leader and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war across the planet with a weapon in space. Machete takes on an army in an effort to dismantle a plan for global anarchy.
And, just in case anyone out there is wondering why a sequel comes so soon, here's what director Rodriguez has to say about the whole thing:
“The fan response to the Machete character has been fanatical since his first appearance. Machete is truly a super hero and ‘Machete Kills' will be bigger and more ambitious than the first time.”
