Eugene Allen, the man at the door, was the White House butler who served eight different presidents from 1952 to 1986, and this man has really lived one interesting life.
Lee Daniels‘ upcoming high-end drama, The Butler is based on Wil Haygood's Washington Post article, ‘A Butler Well Served by This Election'. Allen started his career in the White House as a ‘pantry man' in 1952 when black people weren't allowed to use public restrooms in his native Virginia.
Robin Williams has joined the cast and he'll play President Dwight D. Eisenhower; Forest Whitaker plays Allen, Oprah Winfrey is set as his wife, and David Oyelowo will star as Allen's son.
Other notable cast members, including Vanessa Redgrave, Alex Pettyfer, John Cusack, Terrence Howard, Liam Neeson, Jane Fonda, Colman Domingo, Minka Kelly and Alan Rickman among others.
Danny Strong wrote the script along with Daniels for the Forest Gump-like film, set to begin shooting in Brooklyn, N.Y. in September.

Besides, Williams' involvement in Phil Alden Robinson's high concept comedy The Angriest Man in Brooklyn has now been officially confirmed as was previously rumored; he'll star alongside Mila Kunis and Peter Dinklage.
