OmniCorp EM-208

What do you expect from the upcoming RoboCop? A lot of action from the iconic cyborg police officer – hope that’s the right answer? Well, one thing is for sure, until that action (read: trailer) arrives, folks from OmniCorp.com will (obviously) continue with their products videos and promo images, because, hey – they want you to know that the future is under control! Head inside to see what we’re talking about…

For example, their XT-908, delivers clear skies range of 45 continuous hours and 4,256 miles, with an operational altitude of over 55,000 ft. It can be armed with a variety of weaponry, including tactical micro-missiles and 50-lb laser-guided surgical bomb units for pre-emptive “restraint” strikes.

ED-209, on the other hand, operates as evidence recorder, analyzer and transmitter. Armed with full media capability – 360 infrasonic cameras and audio targeting – and real time backup ensures operational security.

OmniCorp ED209

Let’s not forget EM-208, which offers operational flexibility across ecosystems, with auto temperature regulation and self-“healing” functionality. It also offers the full media suite: 360 infrasonic cameras, audio targeting, and real-time backup.

Then, they also have C-1 which maxes out at 248 mph (397 km/hr.) but recommends sub-200 mph for optimal handling. Its liquid-hydrogen cooled 16-valve engine and 6-speed transmission system generates 197 horsepower with fluid mesh.

Last, but not least – NI-408, the Hyper-touch trigger restricts and releases per the intentionality level applied by the triggerman. Finger “scales” measure and confirm ID prior to unlocking the charge.

Now, when it comes to Jose Padilha‘s upcoming reboot, you already had a chance to check out some pretty cool set pics and videos with Joel Kinnaman aka Alex Murphy, a fatally wounded cop who returns to the force as a powerful cyborg with submerged memories haunting him.

…with all respect, everybody that’s involved in this movie loved the original and we have a lot of respect for it. We’re going to have a lot of throwbacks and there’s going to be a lot of fun stuff for the fans of the first movie. It’s a new story within the old one.

Now, in a fresh interview with Metro, Kinnaman explaines:

It was a great experience. Half of my scenes were with Gary Oldman, which was a dream come true. The director didn’t want to make a superhero movie – we made an action tragedy. It’s going to be a sad and exciting story with quite a bit of drama….The movie will surprise people.

Are we ready for that surprise? (we definitely are!)

Anyway, let us once again remind you that, beside Kinnaman, the rest of RoboCop cast includes Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson, Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael K. Williams, Jay Baruchel, Jennifer Ehle, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, and the movie is set to hit theaters on February 7th, 2014.

Stay tuned for more updates!

It’s written km/h, not km/hr. or anything else.
    Best regards.

What kind of ignorant BS is that? Since when is knowing stuff “annoying”?

        Jeez, kids these days.

It’s not the “knowing stuff” that is annoying. Don’t take what he said out of context, it is the being nit-picky and jackass-ish about it that is bothersome.

Dictionaries list km/h, kmph and km/hr. You can use any one, they are all valid English abbreviations (not SI). But even if you want to follow the International System of Units representation, there are three options: km/h, km h−1 and km·h−1; not just one.
      Best Regards.

Just because it has big name actors attached (seriously, who gives a shit if samuel l jackson is in a scifi flick? Did anyone care that he was in star wars?)

The original movie was awesome because of the time period and also did not feature any big name actors. I want to be excited for this movie, but I have yet to see a single thing that is exciting to me.

Looks like they lost the entire idea of this being “Robocop”. Instead of a Cyborg, all I see is a very human guy wearing a variation of a police tactical squad uniform. That defeats the whole tragic and interesting premise for the series.

Looks like a very human Batman or police officer in a tactical uniform, not a Cyborg. I’ll skip this failed attempt at a reboot.

Without Verhoeven you got nothing. This new money grab will be a big disappointing joke like the rest.

No Robocop without Peter Weller. Who are they kidding?

“Batman” suit + “Power ranger” Black Ranger helmet = “Robocop”.
Is this robot made from black plastic?
Why they changed head? Would you change Darth Vader’s head?
    He even moves like human.
I bet those famous actors will be for few scenes, to make better trailer. Nothing more. This movie will be for kids, so later they could sell toys. This might end up as B-movie.

You can’t reboot a cult classic like Robocop. They couldn’t even get a sequel right. Robocop is a masterpiece, and doesn’t need the 2013 “we’re so much better at making movies now” treatment. While we’re at it, let’s reboot “A Clockwork Orange” but this time Keanu Reeves is Alex and there is no violence of any kind. Leave Robocop alone!

This is the worst puff piece I’ve read in a while. I know things can still be done in post-production, but this suit looks horrible. It looks like a man in a suit, not a cyborg. Plus, this movie is going to be PG-13 – the original Robocop is one of the most violent movies of all time. Violence is one of the main themes of the original series, and they are going to tone it down to sell more tickets to teenagers.

Wow, so many armchair critics about how Kinnaman and the suit is portrayed and all you’ve seen is him riding a motorcycle pretty much between takes? Geez. I think the suit looks awesome and withhold any judgement until I actually see the finished product. “Everything new sucks.” “No need for change.” “Get off my lawn.”

This is the trouble with remaking classics like this, even modern classics like “Robocop.” They’re bound to miss out on the shocking spirit and satire of the original, and the costume looks shit in comparison to the Peter Weller original. It will probably be all child friendly and stuff considering its possible and likely audience, in s similar sort of way to how “Robocop 2” was a pale imitation of “Robocop,” let alone “Robocop 3” I can see this movie having none of the distinctiveness of the Paul Verhoven original, unless that is they get Verhoven to direct this one too

Robocop is an amazing film. It did not need a remake. This movie looks like every piece of tripe that is being released these days.

Step one: buy a recognizable IP
Step two: make shitty movie with a good trailer
Step three: sell the shit out of it so idiots go in droves
Step four : wait 4 years while everyone forgets how shitty it was and then re-sell your sequel
    rinse wash repeat.
