The latest international poster (and featurette) for the upcoming Rush movie is all about James Hunt and Niki Lauda. Or, if you prefer – Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Brühl. Can’t say I’m too excited about this action drama, but hey – beside the above mentioned duo, some pretty cool cast is on board, so I’ll give them a try…
Ron Howard directed the movie from a script written by Peter Morgan, which revolves around two legendary drivers – Niki Lauda and his rival James Hunt, in their pursuit of the 1976 World Championship at Fuji in Japan.
If you make one mistake – you die, remember? No wonder they already promise us a spectacular big-screen re-creation of the merciless 1970s rivalry between Lauda and Hunt (I have to be honest, the official US trailer for the whole thing doesn’t look bad at all). And here’s the latest featurette:
In case you forgot the official synopsis:
Set against the sexy and glamorous golden age of Formula 1 racing, the movie tells the true story of two of the greatest rivals the world has ever witnessed: handsome English playboy Hunt and his methodical, brilliant opponent, Lauda. Taking us into their personal lives on and off the track, Rush follows the two drivers as they push themselves to the breaking point of physical and psychological endurance, where there is no shortcut to victory and no margin for error…
Also starring Olivia Wilde, Alexandra Maria Lara, Stephen Mangan, Christian McKay, Julian Rhind-Tutt, Jamie de Courcey, Pierfrancesco Favino and Natalie Dormer, Rush is set to hit theaters on September 20th, 2013.
