And it sounds like an awesome decision, simply because this girl already starred as Eponine in the London production of the whole thing in 2010.
So, Barks is now on board and will join the cast which already includes Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Aaron Tveit and Eddie Redmayne.
The musical has been adapted for the screen by William Nicholson and as you already know, it is an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption-a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit.
Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Crowe) after he breaks parole.
When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine's (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.
