Melissa McCarthy will star the untitled comedy, described as a buddy cop movie.
Director
Paul Feig, whose Bridesmaids kicked off last summer blockbuster movie season, will direct and executive produce the Fox project, which was written by Parks and Recreation scriber
Katie Dippold.
The new buddy FBI/Cop Movie marks a reunion between Feig and his Bridemaids breakout star McCarthy and follows the strained working relationship between a high-strung FBI agent (Bullock) and an unconventional Boston cop (McCarthy) who team up to take down a Russian gangster.
A summer shoot for another funny female-focused project is planned due to McCarthy's busy schedules as she stars on CBS' Mike and Molly, and Feig, who is developing several projects too.
Bullock next stars in Alfonso Cuaron's sci-fi film Gravity. Warner Bros. lifted the film off of its November release date and set it for sometime in 2013, while McCarthy will next be seen on the big screen in the Judd Apatow comedy This is 40 in December.
