It's popular thing in Hollywood these days. And if
Angelina Jolie can make a movie
Scarlett Johansson can make a movie, too!
So let's all welcome Johansson's first big-screen-baby project titled
Summer Crossing.
This is actually an adaptation of
Truman Capote‘s novella of the same name and Scarlett definitely has an interesting team on board for the whole thing.
Just to see how serious she is about this I will tell you that screenwriter
Tristine Skyler is adapting Capote's novella, while Barry Spikings, (who won an Oscar for
The Deer Hunter) is in charge for producing the project.
On the other hand, Summer Crossing will be executive produced by Peter D. Graves (Killer Elite) in association with Alan Schwartz of the Truman Capote Literary Trust.
So yes, it's a great team on board for the novella which is set in New York during the summer of 1945, and centers on an 18-year-old girl breaking free of her rich, smothering, family to discover her own identity and sexuality.
I'm half way interested in this, but as usual – stay tuned for more updates!
