SCREAM TV Series Gets Greenlit

Fiona September 4, 2013 1 comment
Scream Let's do this fast – a TV series based on the Scream movies is now officially in the works! Do we really need Scream pilot? I have a feeling that it will suck, but who cares, MTV apparently already has a potential director. Guess who? Wes Craven, of course, and you know what that means. Yeah, my friends, they're (un)fortunately quite serious about the whole thing… When it comes to Wes Craven (man who stands behind all four Scream movies), I'm a little bt confused. A few months ago he tweeted “No news on “Scream 5” yet” and also added: “You guys really want another one?” Well, “Scream 5” could (not) hurt. But what about this pilot-update? According to Deadline, MTV is working on Scream with the films' producer, the Weinsteins' Dimension Films and former top MTV execs Tony DiSanto and Liz Gateley's DiGa Vision but there is still nothing about the “specific concept” or writer. So, the pilot green light is surprising, but MTV obviously has big plans for the project – it has already been slated for a summer 2014 debut. Any thoughts about this?
