Fans of horror and supernatural thrillers, brace yourselves. Ryan Coogler, known for his work on Black Panther and Creed, has teamed up once again with Michael B. Jordan, but this time for a chilling new project—Sinners. Described as a cross between Lovecraft Country and Midnight Mass, Sinners is shaping up to be a must-watch for horror enthusiasts.
The recently released trailer sets the tone for this supernatural horror set in 1930s New Orleans, a time and place already rife with darkness and mystery. Michael B. Jordan stars as a troubled twin brother who returns to his hometown, hoping to start anew. However, a sinister force lingers, more terrifying than anything he's ever encountered. As Jordan's character ominously whispers in the trailer, “Of all the things I've seen, I ain't never seen no demons, no ghosts, no magic… 'til now.” These haunting words are paired with rapidly flashing images of dark magic, demonic entities, and a town gripped by fear.

The film boasts a stellar cast, with Hailee Steinfeld, Wunmi Mosaku, Jack O'Connell, and the legendary Delroy Lindo rounding out the supporting roles. Coogler, who has directed Jordan in Fruitvale Station, Creed, and Black Panther, also penned the script and produced Sinners under his Proximity Media banner.
Shot from April to July 2024, Sinners has been in the works for some time, with rumors swirling since January of that year when Jordan was first cast. With its anime-inspired influences and potential to become a franchise, Sinners promises not only thrills but also depth, tackling themes of race and societal tension in the Jim Crow era.
Fans won't have to wait long to sink their teeth into this one. Sinners is set to hit theaters in both the UK and the US on March 7, 2025. If you're a fan of the supernatural and historical horror, this one should already be on your radar.
