Snitch Check out the first poster for the upcoming action thriller Snitch, which opens in two months. As you already know (and see), Dwayne Johnson plays the lead in a movie which is inspired by true events and centers on a father who must go undercover for the DEA in order to free his son who was imprisoned after being set up in drug deal. Ric Roman Waugh directs the movie from a script he co-wrote with Justin Haythe inspired by a Frontline documentary about how changes to the federal drug policy of the United States encouraged the incarcerated to snitch on their accomplices. Johnson stars as a father whose teenage son is wrongly accused of a drug distribution crime and is looking at a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 10 years. The rest of the story goes like this:
Desperate and determined to rescue his son at all costs, he makes a deal with the U.S. Attorney to work as an undercover informant and infiltrate a drug cartel on a dangerous mission- risking everything, including his family and his own life.
The rest of the Snitch cast also includes Susan Sarandon, Benjamin Bratt, Barry Pepper, Jon Bernthal and Harold Perrineau, and the movie is set to open on February 22nd, 2013.
