Another bin Laden film is on the horizon as ‘one of the first men through the door on the third floor' of the martyr Sheikh's lair in Pakistan is in talks with
Steven Spielberg to turn the book into an action movie.
However, at least two other filmmakers (from HBO and DreamWorks) have also met with the former Navy SEAL who uses the pseudonym Mark Owen to talk about licensing the story.
Meanwhile, the author
Matt Bissonette who has written his eyewitness account, a soon-to-be-published book ‘No Easy Day: The Firsthand Account of the Mission that Killed Osama bin Laden' is now facing threats against his life in addition to possible criminal prosecution as details and personnel on the mission have been kept classified in the interest of national security.
It's not clear if Spielberg, whose next film is Robopocalypse, would direct or produce the project that is a bit of a way off just yet.
As of yet, there is Kathryn Bigelow's
Zero Dark Thirty, which hits on December 19th, 2012 and low rent Code Name Geronimo starring Cam Gigandet, Xzibit and Eddie Kaye Thomas – Weinstein will put the film in theaters in early fall.
The book
No Easy Day will be released on September 11th.
