After two new posters premiered yesterday, Paramount Pictures has released the first teaser trailer for The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn.
The film is the first in a new series of 3D motion capture film based on the iconic character created by Georges Remi, better known to the world by his pen name “Herge” and follows Tintin and his friends as they discover directions to a sunken ship commanded by Capt. Haddock’s ancestor and go off on a treasure hunt.
The film stars Jamie Bell as Tintin, Andy Serkis as Captain Haddock, Daniel Craig as the nefarious Red Rackham, and Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as Thompson and Thompson.
Steven Spielberg takes the duty of director while Peter Jackson will serve as producer (Jackson will direct the sequel). Jackson’s F/X company Weta Digital will do the movie’s motion capture and special effects. Tintin will be Spielberg’s first move that will be shot digitally.
The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn is scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 23, 2011.
