THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Confirmed as Trilogy

Nick Martin July 5, 2012 Add a Comment
Avi_Arad_Matt_Tolmach Hooray for trilogy – The Amazing Spider-Man is the first installment in a movie trilogy! After a record-breaking weekend ($35 million) on the film's official Facebook page on Monday, it was posted:
It's finally here! The Amazing Spider-Man is the first installment in a movie trilogy that will explore how our fave hero's journey was shaped by the disappearance of his parents.
Even more, producers Matt Tolmach and Avi Arad told SuperHeroHype that the superhero film was set to be a trilogy:
We knew that it was going to be more than one, and at the very least three. We're going to let this movie tell us what the story is.
The sequel, which is already in the works, is scheduled to open May 2nd, 2014. Director Mark Webb has not signed on to helm the sequel yet, but Spiderman star Andrew Garfield has also expressed interest in returning to the role. However, this weekend's box office will tell the real tale. Stay tuned. TASM_Trilogy
