The Best Super Bowl Movie Ads

Nick Martin January 4, 2012 1 comment
Super Bowl As you've noticed some football was played between the pulps of shiny and expensive commercials. Heaps of movie trailers were surrounded by those commercials. A few presented new footage — Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon, Super 8; the others rearranged previous view — Battle: Los Angeles, Thor; some were comical — Kung Fu Panda; and some were hoping to get a better kind of thought — Cowboys & Aliens, Limitless. You've probably seen a good portion of them as well as advertisements. Among a lot, VW is a clear winner, Doritos has one good commercial, and Pepsi Max needs to get a new agency. Which of these movie ads did the best job selling their film and which of these movies are you most aroused to see? 1. Super 8 is the most foreseen, or at least the most energetic, movie advertised during the Super Bowl. The original, very puzzling trailer for J.J. Abrams‘s confidential Spielberg esteem showed us barely anything: This half a minute ad showed us just enough to make us want to go watch all of Spielberg's elder films and to restore our faith in the publicity. Also, Coach Taylor! (‘Super 8′ Super Bowl TV Spot) It appears Steven Spielberg, who produced “Super 8,” is the big winner. He also had footage from his new TV production, “Terra Nova,” debut last night, and that too is causing a lot of talk. 2. Cowboys and Aliens: The long trailer for Jon Favreau‘s summer blockbuster kept getting fun at, although Harrison Ford–Daniel Craig two-hander about wranglers, true aliens in the West is, one way or another, assumed to be serious. It's less silly, but there's still an minor “Men in Black” vibrations, created by that insect-like UFO. (Cowboys & Aliens Super Bowl TV Spot) 3. Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon: The chick who's not Megan Fox appears. And we doubt, is it easier, roughly speaking, to blow things up while you're doing a everlasting twisting move, or does it just look pretty cool? (Transformers: Dark of the Moon Super Bowl TV Spot) 4. Limitless: The movie in this set we least anticipated to have a Super Bowl ad. It's not a blockbuster, but the play worked: We are taking this movie more seriously than we were before, to be fair, we hadn't been considering it seriously in any way. Now, somebody would put down a kind of cash on a Bradley Cooper film. 5. Fast Five: If you're persuaded to see the fifth movie in the Fast and the Furious franchise, this spot most likely had all you were looking for, plus Paul Walker and Vin Diesel in their respects to “Thelma & Louise”.
