THE CANYONS Trailer Featuring Lindsay Lohan And James Deen
After several teaser videos, IFC Films has finally released the first official version for director Paul Schrader’s new film The Canyons starring Lindsay Lohan and pornstar James Deen.
The new trailer for contemporary L.A. noir about the dangers of sexual obsession and ambition starts off with Lohan’s monologue about movies, which obviously are not her thing anymore.
We see later glimpses of sex, provocative images of barely-clothed men, and, of course, a cameo by Gus Van Sant who also stars in the film.
The film also stars Nolan Gerard Funk and Amanda Brooks.
The background music sounds like tracks used for the spots for Spring Breakers and The Bling Ring.
Written by Bret Easton Ellis, The Canyons will be premiered on July 20th, 2013 at New York’s Film Society of Lincoln Center before hitting select theaters on August 2nd, 2013 and on VOD and iTunes.

Here’s the official synopsis:
Christian is a young LA trust-fund dude who’s financing a horror film simply to keep his dad off his back about doing something with his life. He has been dating Tara for about a year — she was an aspiring actress/model who settled down with him when the reality of the business became apparent to her. She’s now just Christian’s bored plaything. Christian’s assistant Gina is casting the film with assistance from Tara. Gina is pushing Ryan, her boyfriend and struggling actor, for the lead. Unbeknownst to either Christian or Gina, Ryan and Tara were a couple three years ago. When Ryan came back into Tara’s life during the auditions for the movie, they reignited their affair. But Christian, a dangerous control-freak, finds out about the affair and starts playing cruel mind games with both Tara and Ryan, which escalate into an act of bloody violence.
