Mia Wasikowska. Today, we're back with the first official trailer for the movie which is set to premiere at TIFF this weekend, and as usual – we definitely recommend you to take a look. If you ask me – paranoia never looked better…
So, as we previously reported, Ayoade directed the whole thing from a script he co-wrote with
Avi Korine, and the movie is based on
Fyodor Dostoyevsky‘s novella of the same name.
It stars Eisenberg as Simon, a timid man, scratching out an isolated existence in an indifferent world who goes mad after finding out his life has been usurped by a
doppelgänger.
And here's the rest of the plot:
The arrival of a new co-worker, James, serves to upset the balance. James is both Simon's exact physical double and his opposite — confident, charismatic and good with women. To Simon's horror, James slowly starts taking over his life.
