As we reported back in early August of 2013,
Miles Teller is one of the actors in-contention for the
leading role of Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic in the upcoming reboot of
The Fantastic Four from
Chronicle‘s director
Josh Trank.
A new report says, Teller
, one of the town's hottest young actors coming off of the Sundance smash
Whiplash is still testing for the same role, along with a new name
Emmy Rossum (
Shameless) and
Kate Mara (
House of Cards) who are screen testing this week for the role of Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman.
Kit Harington who was also mentioned as a possibility for
Mister Fantastic role will instead star in
Testament to Youth. Earlier candidates for the Invisible Woman role,
Saoirse Ronan and
Elizabeth Olsen are both reportedly out of contention due to scheduling conflicts.
THR's article doesn't mention the team's
big orange rock monster (we also reported that
Josh Gad was rumored for the role), but British actor
Christian Cook (
Cemetery Junction) has tested for Ben Grimm.
If cast, the actors would join
Michael B. Jordan, who is reportedly already cast as Johnny Storm/Human Torch.
Finally, THR says Dr. Doom will be the villain, despite being the villain in both of the prior
Fantastic Four films, but Fox is “open to” gender-bender should the right actress emerge for the role.
The Fantastic Four reboot of the franchise is currently set for release on June 19th, 2015.
