Here's the first official trailer for CBGB, the movie exploring the history of the famed New York City's nightclub of the same name.
A Manhattan club became a foundation of the punk rock scene in the 1970s. Located at Bowery and Bleecker in NYC, CBGB saw the likes of Talking Heads, Velvet Underground, Blondie, Ramones, Misfits, Joan Jett, The B-52′s, Iggy Pop, The Police and Patti Smith walk through its doors.
Randall Miller‘s film chronicling the rise of most storied punk rock venue starting with Alan Rickman as Hilly Kristal, who opened CBGB in 1973, ultimately closed in 2006 over a rent dispute.
The film also stars Ashley Greene and Donal Logue, as Kristal's daughter Lisa and ‘Idaho,' Rupert Grint as Cheetah Chrome, Malin Akerman as Debbie Harry, Kyle Gallner as Lou Reed, Justin Bartha as Stiv Bators, Joel David Moore as Joey Ramone, along with Johnny Galecki, Ryan Hurst, Justin Bartha, Bradley Whitford and the Foo Fighters' Taylor Hawkins.
CBGB hits select theaters on October 11th, 2013.
