English language remake of
Livid from Inside guys Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo is moving forward with French distributor SND Films.
They’ve set
David Birke to write the script, and Robert Léger and Doug Davison, which genre credits include The Strangers and the upcoming remake of Oldboy, to produce this remake.
Birke has a couple of real-life serial killer thrillers among his credits including Freeway Killer and Gacy.
The film looks like a nightmare that could only come from the land of New Wave and revolves around a young home nursing aide named Lucie who works in a remote country estate and discovers that her comatose patient may have hidden her fortune somewhere in the house. The nursing aide returns with her friends to search for the loot, and they become trapped in the house with an old woman who may not be as sick as she appeared. Lucy and her friends know their hunt will lead them into a horrifying supernatural series of events.
The original Livid played the Midnight Madness section at last fall’s Toronto Film Festival.
