Hollywood star Zac Efron has told he piled on 18 pounds – in a good way, for his new role in The Lucky One. The High School Musical star looks slightly bigger these days due to the fact he had to buff up body recently for his role as a US Marine in the Iraq war in the film adaptation of Nicholas Sparks‘ “The Lucky One”. Speaking about his new weight, he said:
I was just eating, eating and eating.The 23-year-old also had to shave his hair off to play the part. Has Efron, who very recently broke up with Vanessa Hudgens, definitely left his Disney song-and-dance days behind, exchanging them for this dramatic part and plenty of iron-pumping? However, the actor was even seen working on his fitness during a latest trip to the Caribbean previous month and having done a ten week filming shoot before Christmas in New Orleans. The Lucky One is a novel by American writer Nicholas Sparks, released on September, 2008. The story circles around a US Marine named Logan Thibault who finds a photo of a smiling girl half-buried in the sands of Iraq during his third tour of duty. It becomes an amulet for Thibault, who then finds the woman in the photo. The film rights for The Lucky One have been sold to Warner Brothers. Nicholas Sparks' seventh movie is being directed by Scott Hicks, who directed No Reservations, as well. It was reported that the bestselling novel, The Lucky One, by Nicholas Sparks is headed to the big screen in the fall of 2012. The movie will be produced by Denise Di Novi who has made three other films of Sparks' novels—Nights in Rodanthe, A Walk to Remember, and Message in a Bottle. Zac Efron will play the lead role, Logan Thibault and Taylor Schilling has been cast as Elizabeth.
