The Strange Case of Hyde Comic Book Adaptation

Fiona November 20, 2012 Add a Comment
The Strange Case of HydeAnyone tired of comic book adaptations? Well, if you answered with “no”, then get ready for another story, because Dark Horse’s upcoming graphic novel The Strange Case of Hyde is going to be adapted for the big screen! Upcoming, exactly, since the comic will be officially revealed later this week at Comic Con. The Strange Case of Hyde is written by Cole Haddon, who will also be handling the screenplay. Instead of using Hyde as a monster, in this new version (that will, by the way, still be set in the Victorian era) character will be something of an “anti-hero” both in the comic and in the upcoming movie. So, consider this not as “retelling of the story” but as a “fresh take by making the split personality the center of a Victorian-era action-adventure that sees him go head-to-head against a historical villain.” “Mr. Hyde is one of my favorite literary villains, but he hasn’t been given his due on the big screen for the better part of a century,” Haddon said, and added: “I’m excited to be playing a part in restoring him to his proper place in the pantheon of movie monsters: at the top of the food chain.” Like we said, at this moment not much is known about the whole project, except that Haddon is writing the screenplay, while Mark Gordon is attached as producer. But, as usual, with every new update on The Strange Case of Hyde we’ll be back, so stay with us!
