David Slade is directing “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”, but it is unknown if he will also direct any of the Breaking Dawn films. In addition, a new production company, Sunswept Entertainment, has been brought on board for “Breaking Dawn.” Karen Rosenfelt, daughter of former MGM Chairman & CEO Frank Edward Rosenfelt, served as Producer on both “Twilight” and on “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”. She did not work on “New Moon”, but is producing “Breaking Dawn” through her Sunswept Entertainment banner.
There will likely be quite a bit of tweaking to the fourth novel in the series due to the explicit sex and birth scenes to avoid an R rating. Inside sources confirm that Breaking Dawn may be filmed and released in two parts – “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I“, and “Part II“. Although this has not been confirmed officially by Summit, author Stephenie Meyer has stated,
It would have to be made into multiple movies because it's hard to imagine it fitting into ninety minutes.
“Breaking Dawn” Story: To be irrevocably in love with a vampire is both fantasy and nightmare woven into a dangerously heightened reality for Bella Swan. Pulled in one direction by her intense passion for Edward Cullen, and in another by her profound connection to werewolf Jacob Black, she has endured a tumultuous year of temptation , loss, and strife to reach the ultimate turning point. Her imminent choice to either join the dark but seductive world of immortals or pursue a fully human life has become the thread from which the date of two tribes hangs. Now Bella has made her decision; a startling chain of unprecedented events is about to unfold with potentially devastating and unfathomable consequences.
Fans can expect a massive talent search for the role of Renesmee Cullen, the half-vampire, half-human daughter of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan, just as there was for the roles of Seth and Leah Clearwater in “Eclipse”.
“Breaking Dawn: Part I” should start shooting in September 2010, with a release scheduled for 2011. [Source: AB Media]
There is no explicit sex scene in Breaking Dawn. It is done very tasteful and left to the imagination.
They should definately leave everything in…By the time the movie comes out, the fans that were 13/14 during the first movie will be around 16 and plenty old enough to see the movie.
Besides, if they were old enough to read it, they should be old enough to watch it.
ok there better be sex scenes ans the birth in the movie i have read all the books and have imagined them. Kids go and see R rated films all the time. Thats my thoughts!
Explicit sex scenes???? Where can I get THAT copy? I wanna see SOME action in there for crying out loud! BTW you can get away with a lot in a PG13 movie. I have seen them push the limits and they SHOULD for this one! This movies is for older teens and up. They can handle some steamy scenes and Bella’s C-section. Make it real! PLEASE!!!!!!!
They need to change the ending and friggin kill some of the Vulturi or at least put up a good fight. No one wants to see an army of wolves and vamps lined up to kill each other and then they call a truce. It was a sweet story book ending but I wanna see some ACTION! I’m just sayin…..
They HAVE to play AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE to the book or it will SUCK
I think it would be ridiculous to change the movie just to make it pg 13. the fans want to see what they read in the books. they need to stay as close to the fim as possible or it will turn out horrible and they will loose their fan base anyway. stephenie meyers did not make these books for young kids. its under young adult in the book section, so if they cant read/understand the book, they are too young to be seeing the movie anyway. stick to the original version and keep the same characters. They changed victoria in eclipse, which is stupid. you dont make two movies and then start changing the actors. all in all keep breaking dawn as close to the book as possible!
I agree they should not change it from the book, i was disappointed in new moon as was my 11 yr old daughter they butchered the book. I think if someone could read the book, why not see the movie made as it is in the book,i agree they can do alot with pg13 and really i am sure the video games kids play and some movies they see are much worse. Parents allow it regardless dont ruin it for the rest. I for one will watch it first and then decide if my daughter can watch it or not, I read the book first and contimplated the whole time she read new moon and eclipse, in the end i decided to talk with her explain that this is a book and not real life and let her read it. however when the movie comes i will watch and decide again. i for one will be very disappointed if they butcher this book and yes it needs to be a 2 part series. I am so looking forward to breaking dawn.
I like twilight damn!! Its too good and im actually looking forward to all the movies!!
You can’t cut out the sex scenes! and child birth! It what everyone is waiting to see in the movie. They are some of the best bits in the book. There will be no point in making the film if you don’t leave the sex scenes and child birth in it!!
In the book they dont even give details about the sex scenes anyways and the C- Section wouldnt even be that bad.
if the soaP-operas that play during the daytime can have sex scenes, then they can certainaly do it for breaking dawn. pg-13 movies have done and said worse things. all they have to do is do it tastefully.
I think they should leave every thing, The twilight saga,is a book for adults, and any one under 16 read the book they know already that if they made the move like the book that it would be rated R and such,i believe that they should keep every thing in,the birth scene is a main part in the book, i believe they should cut down on some of the sex scenes but not all, most people who read the 4th book enjoyed that part they may have a thing for vampire smut, but thats not wrong,i just dont think it would be fair to the fans if they
“tweaked” the scenes,
I m so happy =)
Breaking Dawn =)
Love of Edward and Bella are the best
Please Show the love of Edward and Bella , and SHOW the wedding and the isle esme =)
I m so HAPPY =)

WHAT????
WANT THE SCENES OF THE ISLE ESME, AS IS THE BOOK!
SO will not be interested, I will, moreover, we fans want the wedding scene and the scenes of the island esme as there are, there’s nothing explicit, it is subtle and very romantic! MUST show the love of Edward and Bella!!
Must show the marriage, all the phrases, gestures, tones, all the involvement and intimacy in this book!
The birth realize they have to change, but hopefully not give away much of the book and am anxious to see bella as a vampire =) and scenes of Edward and Bella after her transformation! There must be muitooo love and complicity!
I hope they are VERY VERY faithful to the book for all fans!
It is the favorite book of all the fans!
Most fans are over 16 years!
So do the film and true to the book!
We want marriage and beautiful, we want to honeymoon, as it is in the book: passionate, sensual, intense, romantic, we like the birth because you can not be equal, we see the scene when Bella wakes up after being transformed when he goes hunting with edward and realize that more and love him more and his dejes for him is even greater, the scene with bella and edward Reneesme the scene of the new home of Edward and Bella, the preparation of the fight with the Volturi, the the jacob imprinting on nessie, the fight with the Volturi, and end with the love of Bella and Edward is very present in its new home with nessie quiet sleep and their parents to declare their love incondiocional each other, with the images bella edward passes to the best moments with them and then happily ever after with them entregarme to the passion that unites them!!
This book aims to show the main attention of decision Bella, who is staying with her beloved Edward, and aims to show the love incondiocional them =)
So we love them in the film, this much!
P.s – I Have 40 year old !!
I’m pleased to some else who thinks these books are more for adults/ late teens. Im really shocked when ever I hear a parent saying “my 10 year old loves all the twilight books”. I would never let a 10 yr old read Breaking Dawn! I think they should give us ADULTS what we want and keep the film as close to the book as possible, it would ruin it for everyone but those 10 yr olds and if your old enough to understand all the books then your old enough to watch it played out on screen! Just make it a 15 please!
I think that they should be true to the book for once. There is no explicit sex, its just Edwar and Bella finally showing their love to the fullest. I dont think the book was made for teen girls so why should the movie be made PG13? Everytime i read Breaking Dawn i can imagine the wedding, the honeymoon, Bella’s pregnancy, Renesmee birth, Bella’s tranformation, Jacob imprints on Bella’s baby, Bella wanting to kivk jacob’s butt, Bella’s first time hunting. I wouldnt want none of that to be taken out. Its just not fair :(
I totally agree! I want a copy of the book that has the explicit sex scenes and child birthing!! They weren’t in my copy of Breaking Dawn!!
Well Everyone is right. Be TRUE to the book cuz then the movie will suck && youu will deff lose alot of fans.
& yes if old enough to understand the book then y not watch the movie ,in the book they dont cut out any parts so whats the point in cuttinq out sences in the MOVIE ??
PG-13 movie OH LORD if the parents allow there children to watch then it’s okayy .
if it has to be Rated R then well let it be cuz im pretty sure everyone wants to see the movie as in the book.
I love The Twilight- Saga!!(L)
Well i think if the kids are old enough to read the books then they are old enough to watch the movie. And if they are worried about there reputations and how people would respond to the sex scenes. well then maybe they should worry a little more about kristen stewart being a prostitute in her new movie “welcome to the rileys”. Also robert pattinson’s movie little ashes where he is completly naked and having sex with another man. I think it would be unnecessary to leave out the scenes because its the one part of the series that is real enough to believe (the love between bella and edward) and kids should no about have kids and that not every pregnancy goes as planned. I love the series and it is just my opinion that parents latley dont care that a movie is rated R there is much worse out there.
After reading the twilight saga, Breaking dawn was beyond amazing. Yes there was sex scenes but when you read them it basically skipped right over it. There should be no reason to take it out. When reading the twilight saga that’s what your waiting for to see if Edward is willing to do that for her. I was very pleased with the last two movies, and I’m sure eclipse is going to be great. But if you plan on changing alot in the breaking dawn movie then i would say don’t even bother making it. Its the worse when there are movies made based off books and there completely changed. I believe if the breaking dawn movie is going to change alot, the fan base for the twilight saga will tremendously decrease.
PREVERTS all you people wanna see is sex you all are sick nasty people i mean yea its surprising but what about the 10 year old fans who want to see it and know about that stuff but arnt sure they want to see nude bella0
I Love the twilight saga.
Firstly there is nothing wrong with sex. Dont make such a big deal gosh. They really need to keep BreakingDawn as close to the book as possible. The fans of the books are all ages and i’m thinking if they can read the book and understand every thing then whatever because the worse they can do it dream about it later Lmao
Yes, Hailey our society has made sex seem like a bad thing and has perverted it. Heck, God created sex but at the right time. Edward and Bella are both married before any of that happens and like someone said they are just showing their love in the fullest way after everything they have been through, this was their time to express their love to the fullest. I am so shocked that this series has been read by 10 and 12 year old, first of all, Stephenie did not write it with the intent of making it for young adults/teens. I am 17 now and read the books last year when I was 16 I think that is the write age for ppl to be reading these books 16 and up.. There is a lot of deep stuff that (not everyone) but most under that age will not understand the full meaning of especially if you are 9 or 10. Breaking Dawn should def. be R!!! and split into 2 movies. But, still the fanbase for these books are from like 9-80!!! really..so if you were old enough to read the books or thought that you were, then you should have no problem with the sex scenes/nudity, birth. Plus it will probably be out in 2011 the latest so some of the younger ones will be a bit more older and mature by then.
i love the newmoon and i am 8 years old
I want to see the movie but I will not be able to if they put in all of the Island Esme part .So I agree with thoughs who think u people who think they should put the whole thing in r stupid nasty people who do not care about anybody but themselfs. So I think they should take out most of Island Esme, and maybe some of Renesmees birth. So I disagree with all of u who think they should put thoughs parts in because I am only twelve and I read all the Twilight books when I was eleven. Also I do not think Kristen and Robert want to go through all of that just to make some stupid nasty fans can have what they want, and not other people. So I think we should let Kristen and Rob deside what they want to do.
Stephenie Meyer is a mormon. One of the rules of a mormon is that “no R rated movies are allowed.” So when she signed the contract, all four movies of the series have to be PG-13 or under. This ruins the last novel for most fans because it has most of the gore, and the sexiness that most expected. I completely disagree for those who say “take out the Island Esme and the birthing scene”. This ruins the novel in two ways. 1. It illiminates the next step that everyone has been waiting for in Bella and Edwards marriage. 2. The birthing scene also adds the gore and the next step into the movie that which the entertainment and action stem from. There are many ways to do the “sex scene”, mainly because in the novels, little is described. There is one scene in particular where Bella stands naked in the mirror, this scene could be eliminated, but they can still do the scene where Edward carries her into the room and also tone down the birthing scene a bit. But for them to completely elimante the main scenes in the novel, this strips the novel completely of anything worthy of watching, other than the wedding and hyped up fight scene. I can promise you that if they eliminate those scenes, more fans will be dissapointed, who read the novel and loved it, and those who read the novel and hated it, but still planned to see how the last novel phases out on the big screen. Agreed, there are ways to do this movie “tastefully” and with justice to the fans. Breaking Dawn will need the most time and work done in order to be successful. They’d better pull it off without eliminating the main sequences in the novel!
Omg! i Love Twilight series as well..!!! I am only 13 tho so i would like the movie to be changed a little bit… ive already read the books so we dont need a image in our heads again, ya kno? Cant wait to see Eclipse and Breaking Dawn…… TEAM EDWARD BABi
I find it funny that most of the people who want the movie to be changed are these 12/13 year old girls who don’t understand sex anyways. The island of Esme part of the book shows Edward and Bella being able to show their love for one another in a more passionate way. They are married so there is nothing wrong with them having sex. We don’t want the sex scenes in the movie just to see them have sex. It’s because it’s the next step in Edward and bella’s life. As for the birthing scene goes that can’t be cut out because that is how Bella becomes a vampire. Giving birth is natural for a women there is nothing gross or perverted about it. Yes there is more gore than normal but nothing someone old enough to understand it can’t handle. The book is a young adults book not a childs book.
They have to do everything according to the book they cant leave anything out especially when esme is born!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i do not think breaking dawn should have sex scenes or nutidy because kids love these books there is no age that u should be to be a fan !!!! its no fair pppl dont wanna see edward and bella get nude and start to have sex its wrong because thats how teen pregnancy starts u ppl dont understand edward is a romodel for most girls !!!!! and they dont wanna see his private on bellas private and them nude together inside the movie at least in the book u dont see them doing it !!! there should not be sex scenes in the movie breaking dawn or nutidy my opinion i dont wanna see bella nude rubbing her butt all over edwards penis or them kissing eachother while nude !!! ok i dont wanna see sex scenes at least make them have clothes not naked !!!
im 13 love the books but not really the first 2 movies but im hoping breaking dawn will be a lot better and there shouldnt cut out any scenes because the most important scenes will be taken out if they take out any and if i can read the books and understand them than why cant the movie just be rated R it doesnt make a difference parent will take us to see the movie anyways i know mine will and if the parents dont oh well im pretty sure that they will get to go anyway because they have friends who have parents duh
I have read all 4 Twilight books and I love them. I do not think the Isle of Esme should be removed nor do I think the birth of Renesseme should be removed. I have read the comments made by others and some of the comments are from the younger kids. Edward and Bella are a young couple who are MARRIED. This is not how teen pregnancy gets started. The birth scene is a very important part. I hope they leave the birth scene and the sex scenes along. Most have read the books and taking two of the most important parts out will be wrong!!!
I was disappointed in the novel Breaking Dawn and i am in my 50’s. I think more older people read the novels than teenagers. The point of the story is: bella and Edward and the yearning to to see her become a vampire and for them to finally consumate their love… I did not like Bella walking into the water, then it was cut to her waking up..all that happened sort of left out. It did not have to be dirty, but could have been written in a romantic way and at least told some of the details.. No teenagers who love each other would not have sex. The film should be 2 parts..the first about the marriage and the romance of their honeymoon..and yes give it a huigher rating…then the second part about Bella being a vampire and the conformation with the volturi. I wanted the wolves and the Cullens to kick the volturis ass..hmmm. I also think the saga should continue..the author should think about fans and continue..even if going to jacob and renesmee being the main characters but still with all the cullens etc in the book.
um yah, the book completely blows and totally goes against its own canons as created in the first 3 books. meyer won’t describe hot married lovin’ but will describe in minutae the gory and disgusting pregnancy/birth of demon spawn, which we are then supposed to somehow love. poor ole jake becomes a paedophile and edward becomes some henpecked wuss-vamp. bellas parents and friends and the cullens except for ‘rose’ and ‘jazz'(that’s their names now, not rosalie and jasper)fade away to nothing and we get many plot points that go absolutely nowhere along with new characters that have no reason to be in the story. lame-o. nope nothing here to fill up two movies. only the hardcores will think this story should be made according to that doomed piece of literary crap. don’t get me wrong, twilight was fab and the other two were pretty good; meyer has shown she can tell a great story but this book is dreadful.
make it real sex and birth r apart of life so leven it in make it R if you have to people will still go see it i know i will !!!!
Seriously, Have you seen what they put on the family channel? Hello The Secret Life of the American Teenager….Even they say its never to early to talk to your teenager about sex…It can be done tasteful in the image that Stephanie wanted it to be.
I think they should just show some brief sex scenes. i meen c’mon!
They can NOT keep out renesmee being born and bella changin into a vampire.
God!
this is SO like secret life!
get a life people-suk it up!
Im 13 and going to be 14 when it comes out.
It’s not like we DONT know what sex is….
in response to lindeys, i have an 11yr old daughter, and i personally will not let my daughter read any of the books till she is about 13/14yrs,as i believe that she will not fully understand the complexity of the emotions involved in all of the books. i also think that stephanie progressing onto the physical relationship of bella and edward, was very tastefully done, leaving an awful lot to your own imagination, and she also does a similar thing to the birth scene. I reall do hope that when making the film, they do not tone down these scenes too much, they are very integrel to the story, they do not have to be overly explicit, but they do need to show some sex in the movie, as that is obviously how renesmee is created!! I believe that these books are made for young ADULTS, and i constitute a young adult to be over the age of 14. I am no being a prude, believe me i am far from it. I do not think that 10yr olds should be reading these books, breaking dawn in particular, therefore i believe that this film should be made as a 15 certificate. Looking forward to eclipse, and also to breaking dawn if they do stick closely to the book.
i agree with most of the comments already made they DO NOT
i am a sister of 5 girls and a sister of 2 boys all the girls hate the twilight movies exept me and my littlest sister. she likes Edward but i love Jacob, plz make these movies even awesomer then the books.
thank you! :)
i agree with the majority of u guys. they do not need to leave out the Isle Esme scenes or the birth of Renesseme. I have read all four of the books and I love them. I want Breaking Dawn to be just like the book. The movie needs to be as close to the book as possible. if it takes two parts to do that then that is ok, but they don’t need to be changing anything. I have been waiting to see how Eclipse comes out and see how it compares to the book but I am really looking forward to Breaking Dawn because that is the last book of the saga and it wouldn’t be fair or justified if they left anything out. Keep it tasteful but steamy all at the same time. I gurantee it will bring in more money that way if it gets kept to what the book shows.
when making ANY movie from a book, they have to leave things out and/or change things around, but PLEASE do NOT change much from the Breaking Dawn book! the island and the birth are detrimental to the book, and yes, you can do these scenes with class. they do not have to be gory and too sexy. most of the parts with edward and bella in intimacy are exactly that, intimacy and their love, not sex. there is another book being made into a 2-part movie, it can and should be done with this one!!
I am waiting to see eclipse and I hope they kept more close to the book…..just my thoughts!
Per the comment made about perverts, I think this is so wrong. I mean, we are all entitled to an opinion. However, we know books are never the same as the movie, books are always so much better. What I tend to find highly ironic is this… The books in themselves are a great story, but they are quite sensual in nature as well, not nasty, perverted or disgusting in their writing, but a true love.Kids today are exposed to filth and nasty things and movies and games and sexting, and you name it, and we are worried on a book staying true to a story line that can be done tastefully well without it being perverted? I resent the comment, in fact. I have seen more racey things on regular television and basic cable channels by far. It is all about being done tastefully, and if you read the book, other than it leaving alot to the imagination and subtle comments, it never crossed lines of disgusting perversion or porn.Yes, the birth was descriptive, but women have C Sections every day and some are brutal.I am sure they can portray this part of the book well enough without offending the masses. But if a kid is allowed at 10 yrs old to read and hear this, why are you so concerned on them also seeing it then? I agree, these books are much more geared to teens and young adults into far adulthood. So maybe you censored parts for a 10 yr old, but that is not what the book was about, find more appropriate content for your child if you feel natural relations and relationships and love are filthy.
Im fourteen and I love the twilight saga, and if people my age and younger want to read it then its up to the parents to decide,my parents didnt have a problem with me reading it and I dont understand why all these 10 year olds are like crying because it may be made into a 15 or ‘r rated’. if your parents didnt mind you reading it,then they wont mind you watching it either, you just have to wait a few months longer than everyone else and get it on dvd.if they’ve read the books then they should know that the sex and birth scenes are done tastefully, not raunchy and disgusting.if they are too immature to put up with a few seconds of breif sex and birth then maybe they should stick to reading comic books.
I cant wait till breakingdawn part 1&2 and I will be very dissapointed if those scenes gets missed out, both parts are important. Bellas compromise to sleep with edward after marrige in eclipse was done in a sensitive way to not offend younger viewers,if they have to be tredding on eggshells making while making breaking dawn so it does not offend kids then that just shows that this part of the saga is not for kids!
