Scott Walker's The Frozen Ground hits U.K. cinemas July 19th, 2013, well before it hits Stateside theaters on August 23rd, 2013. Since it was scheduled to come out earlier across the pond, the official quad poster and trailer for the latest serial killer on the loose flick is coming from the other side of the ocean.
The short UK trailer features the real-life violence behind Alaska's most notorious serial killer, Robert Hansen (John Cusack) and sets a much different tone by cutting out dialogue, allowing the wintery seclusion of Alaska to speak for itself and removing recently-escaped would-be victims (Vanessa Hudgens) entirely.
Beside Hudgens and Cusack, The Frozen Ground also stars Nicolas Cage as an Alaskan detective Jack Halcombe, Curtis ‘50 Cent' Jackson and Radha Mitchell.
Check out the new U.K. trailer:
Frozen Ground follows Alaskan detective Glenn Flothe (Cage) as he sets out to end the murderous rampage of Robert Hansen (Cusack), a serial killer who has gone unnoticed for 13 years. As the bodies of street girls start to add up in Anchorage, fear strikes a chord with the public. Risking his life, Detective Flothe goes on a personal manhunt to find the killer before the next body surfaces. When a seventeen year old escapee reveals key information about the case, Flothe is finally able to trail the killer. But will he catch him in time to save the next victim?
