Universal and DreamWorks Animation have just dropped the highly anticipated trailer for their upcoming animated feature, “The Wild Robot.” Fans of animation and literature alike will be thrilled by this adaptation of Peter Brown's beloved, award-winning novel. Scheduled to hit theaters on October 18th, the film promises a heartwarming and epic adventure that's set to captivate audiences.

The story follows ROZZUM unit 7134, affectionately known as Roz, a robot who finds herself shipwrecked on a deserted island. In this harsh and unfamiliar environment, Roz learns to adapt, building relationships with the island's animal inhabitants and eventually becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling named Brightbill. This touching narrative of survival, adaptation, and unexpected family is brought to life with stunning animation and a stellar voice cast.

Leading the voice cast is Lupita Nyong'o, known for her roles in “Us” and “The Black Panther” franchise, who lends her voice to Roz. Joining her are Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Pedro Pascal (“The Last of Us,” “The Mandalorian”) as the sly fox Fink, and Emmy winner Catherine O'Hara (“Schitt's Creek,” “Best in Show”) as the opossum Pinktail. The cast also includes Bill Nighy as the wise goose Longneck, Kit Connor as the curious gosling Brightbill, and Stephanie Hsu as Vontra, a robot who intersects with Roz's journey.

Adding to the excitement, the film features voice performances from Mark Hamill (“Star Wars” franchise), Matt Berry (“What We Do in the Shadows”), and Ving Rhames (“Mission: Impossible” films). With such an impressive lineup, “The Wild Robot” is set to be a standout in the animation genre.

The film is directed and written by Chris Sanders, known for his work on “How to Train Your Dragon,” “The Croods,” and Disney's “Lilo & Stitch.” The production is helmed by Jeff Hermann, whose previous credits include “The Boss Baby 2: Family Business” and the “Kung Fu Panda” franchise.

“The Wild Robot” is shaping up to be a must-watch film for all ages, combining a compelling story, breathtaking animation, and a top-tier cast. Mark your calendars for October 18th and get ready to embark on an unforgettable adventure with Roz and her newfound family. Don't miss out on what promises to be one of the most heartwarming and exciting animated features of the year!
