As we previously reported, Therese is an adaption of the François Mauriac novel of the same name, first published in 1927. Unfortunately, it's the last work of director Claude Miller, who died in April 2012.
The story, set in France (late 1920) revolves around a woman named Thérèse, who marries her charming and free spirited neighbor Bernard Desqueyroux, and together they join their properties forming a vast estate.
