Tim Miller To Direct Sci-Fi Action Thriller ARTEMIS
It was just announced that visual effects specialist Tim Miller, currently attached to direct Deadpool, has now signed on for another 20th Century Fox project, a sci-fi action thriller going by the name of Artemis, with John Davis onboard to produce.
With very little recent news about the Deadpool movie is this the straw that broke the camel's back?
Fox has been trying to do a Deadpool movie for a long time now, but problems with Deadpool escalated more when Ryan Reynolds was cast in the X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
It appears now that Artemis would rather be Miller's feature directorial debut. I'm not sure but time will tell.
Artemis is only described as ‘a contained action thriller set in outer space,' based off of a screenplay to be written by relative newcomer Andrew Lobel who's also scripting fantasy-adventure series Tunnels for Mikael Hafstrom attached to direct.
After directing a number of independent short movies, Miller was responsible for the opening credits sequence for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and providing the visual effects for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World as well as for X-Men, X2, Night at the Museum, 2010s The Wolfman, Planet of the Apes and Where the Wild Things Are .
As for Davis, he produced Chronicle and all the Predator films for the studio.
