PARKLAND Image 01
PARKLAND Image 01 The full theatrical trailer has just dropped online for writer/director Peter Landesman's historical drama Parkland. Landesman's directorial debut tracks the infamous events on November 22nd, 1963 in Dallas, Texas. The ensemble melodrama which focuses on the aftermath of the assassination of John F. Kennedy lands in theaters in exactly a month. Paul Giamatti (as the cameraman Abraham Zapruder), Billy Bob Thornton (as head of Dallas' Secret Service office), Zac Efron (as a doctor at Parkland), Marcia Gay Harden (as a nurse) and Jeremy Strong (as shooter Lee Harvey Oswald) stars along with Ron Livingston, Tom Welling, Jacki Weaver, Jackie Earle Haley, James Badge Dale, and Bitsie Tulloch, respectively. The Tom Hanks-produced film told from the point of view of the Parkland Medical Hospital is set to premiere at the 70th Venice International Film Festival and later play at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival before opens September 20th, 2013. Here's our first look at footage done with a more documentary-like approach. [jwplayer mediaid=”167769″] Check out the Parkland's synopsis:
November 22nd, 1963 was a day that changed the world forever when young American President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. We follow in almost real time a handful of individuals forced to make split-second decisions after this incomprehensible event that would change their lives and forever alter our worlds landscape: the young doctors and nurses at Parkland Hospital, the chief of the Dallas Secret Service, the unwitting cameraman who captured what has become the most watched and examined film in history, the FBI Agents who had gunman Lee Harvey Oswald within their grasp and Vice President Lyndon Johnson who had to take control of a country in a moments notice. Thrust into a scenario of unprecedented drama with unimaginable consequences, these key characters respond with shock, outrage, determination and courage.
We already shared some stills and poster from the upcoming movie put in development to capitalize on the 50-year anniversary of the tragic incident.
