Forest Road

Horror enthusiasts, prepare yourselves. Shudder is set to release “825 Forest Road,” a film that promises to etch itself into your psyche. Directed by Stephen Cognetti, renowned for the “Hell House LLC” series, this upcoming feature delves into a haunted house narrative that intertwines family bonds with lingering spirits.

Following a devastating family tragedy, Chuck Wilson relocates to the seemingly serene town of Ashland Falls with his wife, Maria, and younger sister, Isabelle. Their hopes for a fresh start are quickly dashed as they uncover the town's dark secret: the ghost of Helen Foster, a woman who took her own life in the 1940s, has been haunting the residents for decades. The key to ending these hauntings lies in locating Helen's former residence, 825 Forest Road—a place that mysteriously doesn't appear on any current maps. As Chuck realizes the imminent danger Helen's spirit poses to his family, he embarks on a perilous quest to find the elusive address before it's too late.

Stephen Cognetti has carved a niche in the horror genre with his “Hell House LLC” trilogy, which has garnered a dedicated following for its innovative approach to found-footage horror. “825 Forest Road” marks Cognetti's venture beyond the found-footage style, offering audiences a traditional narrative structure while maintaining the atmospheric tension he's known for.

The film features performances by Elizabeth Vermilyea, Joe Falcone, Kathryn Miller, Lorenzo Beronilla, Darin F. Earl II, and Leyah Rose. “825 Forest Road” is slated for exclusive streaming on Shudder starting April 4, 2025.

The recently released trailer offers a glimpse into the film's eerie ambiance, showcasing unsettling visuals and a narrative that promises to keep viewers on the edge of their seats. The haunting melody accompanying the trailer further amplifies the sense of dread, hinting at the psychological and supernatural horrors that await.

“825 Forest Road” appears poised to deliver a haunting experience that lingers long after the credits roll. With Cognetti at the helm, audiences can anticipate a well-crafted tale that delves into the complexities of grief, the bonds of family, and the shadows of the past. The shift from his signature found-footage style to a more traditional narrative approach could offer a fresh perspective while retaining the chilling elements that fans have come to expect. As the release date approaches, horror aficionados would do well to mark their calendars and prepare for a journey into the unknown corridors of “825 Forest Road.”
