You might have noticed one of the most remarkable aspects of the new epic from
The Wachowski Siblings and
Tom Tykwer is how it moves between its six plot lines.
Well,
Cloud Atlas seldom goes through all six lines when one character narrates on one of the film's main theme. Here,
Tom Hanks as Isaac Sachs narrating from the 1970s-set story ‘Half-Lives: The First Luisa Rey Mystery' and in between we get brief glimpses of
Halle Berry as journalist Luisa Rey;
Ben Whishaw as a 1930s misanthrope composing the ‘Cloud Atlas Sextet';
Jim Broadbent as Timothy Cavendish reading a manuscript for ‘Half Lives: The First Luisa Rey Mystery' and more.
The film also stars
Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Doona Bae, James D'Arcy, Xun Zhou, Keith David, David Gyasi, Susan Sarandon, and
Hugh Grant.
Cloud Atlas would get an IMAX run corresponding with the wide release starting October 26th, 2012.
The film played at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas this week.

Here's the synopsis:
Cloud Atlas explores how the actions and consequences of individual lives impact one another throughout the past, the present and the future. Action, mystery and romance weave dramatically through the story as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero and a single act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution in the distant future.
