Watch: New UK Trailer For Spielberg’s LINCOLN Features More Footage
Slam your fist on the table and make your demand for democracy. That's what the titular 16th President of the United States of America did in a new international trailer for director Steven Spielberg's Lincoln.
Although the film hits limited theaters this week, The Guardian has unveiled this new trailer, showcasing the outstanding ensemble cast, new footage, the passing of the 13th Amendment and Daniel Day-Lewis' eerie resemblance as Honest Abe.
Just in time for Election Day this stirring international trailer reveals more from Tommy Lee Jones as Thaddeus Stevens, a radical member of Lincoln's own party.
Lincoln, which opens on November 16th, 2012, also stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, David Oyelowo, Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, James Spader, John Hawkes, Michael Stuhlbarg, David Strathairn, Walton Goggins, Tim Blake Nelson, Bruce McGill, Jackie Earle Haley, Lee Pace and Jared Harris.
The film that will surely be in the hunt for Oscar gold centers on the last four months of Lincoln's life, guiding the North to victory during the Civil War. Written by Oscar nominee Tony Kushner (Munich), the movie is based on many books about Lincoln's life and one of them is ‘Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln' by Doris Kearns Goodwin.
