In my view, there are many talented people in Russia who in the future may become competitors to such studios as Pixar or DreamWorks. As to ‘The Snow Queen,' when we first saw the project we immediately felt its great potential and decided to step in as co-producers.Check out the trailer for the release and the pics below. Watch: Trailer For Russian-Made 3D Animation Movie THE SNOW QUEEN
Well, I agree the queen is really ugly, but regardless of that, The Snow Queen is one of the most anticipated Russian film releases of 2012.
Award-winning film producer and director Timur Bekmambetov (Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) has signed on to be a co-producer and the Russian distributor of a new 3D animation feature based on a famous fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen.
As part of the expo, Wizart Animation studio will be screening full version of The Snow Queen animated feature at the upcoming American Film Market in Santa Monica on November 1st, 2012.
The Snow Queen tells the story of Kai, a young prince abducted to the wintry palace of the evil monarch of the title, who has blanketed the world in snow and ice, and Kai's sister princess Gerda who ventures across a frozen tundra to rescue him.
The new animated version of 19th century fairy tale about a brave young girl who sets out the cold-hearted villainess is written and directed by Maxim Sveshnikov and Vlad Barbe and co-produced by Inlay Film.
The English and Russian soundtrack by Emmy-nominated composer Mark Willot features Latvian band Prata Vetra (aka Brainstorm) and Russian singer Nyusha; the project is scheduled for theatrical release in Russia and CIS on December 31st, 2012.
