Raimi directs the movie from a script written by Mitchell Kapner and David Lindsay-Abaire, and as you already know – the movie is set before the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. Sort of prequel actually, which centers on a stage magician who is hurled into a fantasy world, and must use his wits to stay ahead of three enchantresses who have plans for him.
