Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Marvel brings Thor and Captain America sequels to Comic-Con 2013 and, in the meantime, here’s the brand-new teaser poster for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It’s a shield on a black background which looks pretty heavily worn.

Since the Marvel Universe has vibranium, which is functionally indestructible, you would probably need someone with adamantium claws and Hulk-level strength to scratch it.

It’s obvious that Cap might see some serious battle in the sequel directed by Joe and Anthony Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, who also wrote the first film.

Marvel will likely screen the first footage from both films at Comic-Con. Russo recently teased:

It’s going to be much grittier than any Marvel movie to date.

The movie is shooting in Los Angeles, Cleveland and Washington, D.C. and will ‘pick-up where Marvel’s The Avengers left off, as Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson), aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.’

Captain America: The Winter Soldier also stars Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Georges St-Pierre, Frank Grillo, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp, Maximiliano Hernández, Robert Redford, Hayley Atwell and Samuel L. Jackson.

A direct sequel to The Avengers is set for release on April 4th, 2014.
