Brand New “Elite Squad” Poster
The new poster for José Padilha directed drama “The Elite Squad” (Tropa de Elite) has been released.
The film won the Golden Bear award for the best movie at the 58th Berlin International Film Festival to the surprise of some critics who questioned the jury’s methods.
“Elite Squad” looks at the shady workings of Rio’s Special Operations Police Battalion, faced an unsuccessful attempt by some officers to keep it out of theaters at the time of its release last year. It has since become a box-office hit in Brazil.
It is not a documentary, but claims to tell the true stories of 12 former officers from the black-uniformed paramilitary unit whose very insignia - a dagger-impaled skull - strikes fear into residents of Rio’s shanty towns. Human rights groups have claimed the squad, which battles with armed drug gangs, fires indiscriminately. Read the rest of this entry
“New York, I Love You” Promo Trailer
Take a look at the promo trailer for “New York, I Love You” from the producer of “Paris, je t’aime” that opened the 2006 ‘Un Certain Regard’ section of the Cannes Film Festival.
“New York, I Love You” is a collection of 12 short films that will be a cinematic love letter to the Big Apple.
Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson are making their directorial debuts and helming their own segments. Portman also plays a Jewish bride.
Shia LeBeouf with Julie Christie and John Hurt is in a segment scripted by the late Anthony Minghella, which he was also set to direct until his death. He is replaced by Shekhar Kapur.
Hayden Christensen, Rachel Bilson, Chris Cooper, Anton Yelchin, Ethan Hawke and Kevin Bacon will take acting roles, whilst X-Men 3 helmer Brett Ratner will direct a segment. Read the rest of this entry

The first teaser trailer for Vin Diesel’s “Fast and Furious 4” is currently playing in theaters in front of Jason Statham’s “Death Race.”

“Frost/Nixon” Movie Trailer and Photos
Universal has officially released the first trailer and new images for upcoming political drama “Frost/Nixon“.
Adaptation of the hit Peter Morgan (The Queen, The Other Boleyn Girl) play based on a series of televised interviews that David Frost secured with former President Nixon in 1977. The final interview ended with Nixon tacitly admitting his guilt regarding his role in the Watergate scandal. Frank Langella and Michael Sheen are reprising their Broadway roles as Nixon and Frost, respectively. Kevin Bacon will play Nixon’s chief of staff Jack Brennan.
Frost/Nixon is directed by actor and filmmaker Ron Howard (Backdraft, Apollo 13, Ransom, A Beautiful Mind, Cinderella Man, The Da Vinci Code). Read the rest of this entry

The poster for the Claude Miller’s (Little Lili) upcoming drama “A Secret” has been released.
“A Secret” is an emotionally gripping drama with strong performances and impressive direction throughout. Highly recommended.

New “Transporter 3″ Trailer

IGN, video game site, has just posted the first official US version of the “Transporter 3” teaser trailer. It is nearly identical to the French version we saw way back in early June.
Directed by Olivier Megaton (Exit, The Red Siren, and Angie), the third installment of Luc Benson’s action movie still follows Frank Martin (Jason Statham), the former SAS trooper turned professional transporter specializing in delivering packages without questions, in his mission.
