Here’s a new trailer for the upcoming The Grey movie which comes from director Joe Carnahan and stars Liam Neeson as the lead.

Movie which is set to open on January 27th, 2012 looks quite interesting, but still I’m not so impressed. Neeson is good as usual but there’s something about this story that looks slow, painful, unoriginal and a little bit boring.

In the film Neeson’s character leads an unruly group of oil-rig roughnecks when their plane crashes into the remote Alaskan wilderness. Battling mortal injuries and merciless weather, the survivors have only a few days to escape the icy elements while battling mortal injuries, biting cold and ravenous hunger, are relentlessly hunted and pursued by a vicious pack of rogue wolves.

Joe Carnahan’s The Grey Cast

According to the latest reports, director Joe Carnahan has received a green light to start production on his original screenplay The Grey.

Dermot Mulroney

Movie is expected to start production next week with a cast led by Liam Neeson that features Dallas Roberts, James Badge Dale, Dermot Mulroney, Frank Grillo, Nonso Anozie and Joe Anderson.

The story follows a crew of oil-rig roughnecks led by Neeson and left stranded by a plane crash right in the hunting zone of a pack of rogue wolves on the frozen Alaskan tundra.

Here’s what director Carnahan has to say about his latest project:

“The wolves have a territorial range of 300 miles, and they will run you out if you cross that. If you’re within 30 miles of their den as is the case here, they will try to kill you.
